Reusable crates can return through the next cooperative delivery.
Canteens and small grocers may return empty cooperative crates with a later delivery rather than arrange a separate freight collection.
Receiving staff must count the returned crates before signing the new consignment. Crates belonging to another cooperative will be recorded separately so that a supplier is not charged for taking them back. Damaged containers should be identified before they are stacked with serviceable stock.
The arrangement covers empty reusable packaging only. Unsold food and chilled goods remain subject to their own collection instructions. A household garden tray cannot be added to the return simply because it fits the same stack. Cooperative buyers will review the first month's counts with the terminal cold-chain desk.
