Practical assessments will record experience gained outside Authority workshops.
Independent repairers may demonstrate relevant skills before being assigned a training level for corridor work.
The assessment bench will accept work examples, job sheets and descriptions of tools used. Assessors will record demonstrated competence and instruction still needed. The absence of an Authority stamp does not, by itself, establish that no relevant experience exists.
A successful demonstration applies only to the tasks assessed. Equipment requiring separate qualification remains outside that finding. Applicants will receive a copy so that another desk does not require the same demonstration without identifying the additional competence it needs to establish.
