New maintenance workers will enter service alongside an assigned partner.
The workshop is pairing incoming workers with experienced staff while a shortage of qualified hands delays routine inspection rounds.
The next intake will receive its first assignments in pairs. The experienced worker retains responsibility for inspection decisions; the incoming worker records the route, equipment reference and outstanding task. An induction round must not be described as an independent inspection.
Additional people are needed to prepare tools, carry components and maintain records. Previous corridor employment is not required for every support task. Applicants should state what they have done and what instruction they need. A place on the intake list does not authorise entry to controlled work areas without the assigned partner.
