Ninety-nine years of service. The next shift is already assigned.
The Authority’s annual service review recognises the departments maintaining road, rail, energy and communications across the Atlantic network.
From continental terminals to residential galleries, continuity depends on the work recorded at every shift change. The current review includes contributions from New York, Sines, Nouadhibou and Touros, together with the intervening sector offices.
Planning for the 2141 centenary is under way. Operational departments will retain their normal maintenance obligations during commemorative preparations. Participation in the programme does not constitute an exemption from scheduled duty.
